Announcing the Unspeakable Chat!
A private space for us to converse and connect
Hi everyone!
Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the The Unspeakable with Meghan Daum subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post random thoughts, questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
I want as many people in the mix as possible, so a lot of threads will be for free subscribers as well as paying subscribers. That said, some topics will be for paying subscribers only. So if you see something that intrigues you and you want in on the conversation I hope you’ll consider becoming (as they say on PBS) a “supporting member.”
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens. This is not as complicated as it might sound. Even I could figure it out. And I usually can’t even turn on a TV.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.

Meghan, I had to stop everything to say that I also thought you were 5’9/5’10. I’m listening to Special Place in Hell (but only subscribe to Unspeakable). So great to give off tall energy!
PS: I am mortified that I originally dropped this comment in the Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em chat thread, confusing the miniature purple icons as I typed furiously on the sidewalk.
