Hi Everyone,
Exciting changes are coming to The Unspeakable Podcast. After years of resistance, I am finally offering the episodes on video. Though I remain steadfast in my belief that the audio format is the best and most intimate format for long interviews, the reality is that discoverability (yes, that’s a real word) is vastly better with YouTube in the mix.
Currently, the Unspeakable YouTube channel contains audiograms of most of the episodes. But starting next week, I’ll post actual videos. Upcoming guests include podcaster/journalist Tara Henley, writer/legendary cultural figure Moon Unit Zappa, and many more I can’t wait to share with you.
I’ve also decided to change the paywall structure of the podcast – for the better. From now on, the regular weekly interviews will no longer be paywalled but available to everyone on YouTube as well as in audio format through the regular channels. Paying subscribers continue to get early access to the episodes plus two extra episodes (usually audio but sometimes video) per month. That’s right. I’ll release six Unpseakable episodes per month. This is to say nothing of all the episodes for A Special Place In Hell. I am an exploited worker with a merciless, childless girlboss.
I’ll also continue to post new writing as often as I can. Typically, that will be available to paying subscribers only.
Founding Members: I owe you big time. Which is to say I owe you some more Zoom hangouts. We will have one on Sunday, Sept 22 at 8pm ET. I’ll send a post with the info very soon
Unspeakeasy members and other interested parties: We will soon launch a brand new website, at which time we’ll have some announcements. Stay tuned.
Your support means everything. Without it, I’d be applying to be a Fulfillment Associate at an Amazon warehouse, which I might do anyway if I can squeeze in one more job. If your subscription is up for renewal I hope you’ll stay with me. It’s never been a better time to be a paying subscriber. (Not that it’s ever a bad time.) The rundown of the subscription tier is here, if you need a refresher.
With ongoing thanks.
Meghan
For what it’s worth, I’ll keep using the audio version. But I hope you give us an update in a few months or so as to whether or not the You Tube helps you.
Meghan, I love that you're always switching it up. I have an idea for a retreat space. How do I contact you? Thank you, El
