You’ve heard me talking about this on the podcast over the last few months and I’m happy to say that the Unspeakeasy online community is just weeks away from launching. You can learn all about it on the gorgeous new website.
Meanwhile, we’ve launched a stealth social marketing campaign using cartoons such as the one above, which I could not love more. Since The Unspeakeasy is designed in the spirit of a Prohibition-era speakeasy, we’ve created a series of memes featuring 1920s flappers remarking on contemporary culture war issues.
Some of them I wrote myself and some of them were written by my amazing team members. Please share on your “socials” if you’re so inclined.
We’re even going to have a caption contest. So stay tuned.
Again, while The Unspeakeasy is a community for women, I have plans to grow this project so we can offer events that include men. That means I’m looking for venues where we could do one-day events or even after-hours hangout kinds of things. If you own a space and would like to host something, let me know!
As I posted a few weeks ago, the Minneapolis retreat May 8-11 is now offering a daytime-only option as well as the overnight package. Spots are filling up fast, so email me if you’re interested.
More soon!
Meghan!!! I love this!! “Designed in the spirit of a Prohibition-era speakeasy, it's an underground world full of intellectual curiosity, good-faith debate and real humor.” This is so cool!! And the aesthetic of the website and the flappers! Love it. Bring on all the great, complicated women and the conversations that come with them.
