Breaking News: First Ever Unspeakeasy COED RETREAT will be June 4-5 in Chicago!
At long last, I’m thrilled to announce we’re offering an Unspeakeasy retreat to which gentlemen are welcome.
It’s not a sleepover (sorry). But it will be two invigorating days of discussions, guest speakers, and whatever else emerges.
I’m still working out the details since this is the first time we’re trying things this way. While I figure it out, we’re offering a pre-sale at a discount rate for paying subscribers to The Unspeakable Substack as well as existing Unspeakeasy members. Space is limited and I have no idea how fast it will sell out, so if you’re interested I strongly urge you to act now.
This rate is $1500, but if you’re a paid subscriber or a member of The Unspeakeasy, you can get the presale price of $999 until March 8, 2024.
Here’s what you’re probably wondering and what I can tell you now.
Where is it?
The venue is an event room at the Publishing House B&B in Chicago’s west loop. Again, it’s not an overnight retreat but you are welcome to get a room there. (Act fast; rooms are limited.)
What are the hours? Why is it on a Tuesday/Wednesday?
The hours will likely be 10am to 5pm both days. It’s on a Tuesday/Wednesday because the Heterodox Academy Conference, which many people will be in town for, begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.
How will it be different from a girl-only retreat?
This retreat will likely be a little larger than our regular retreats, but will not exceed 25 participants. There will be guest speakers, facilitated discussions, and some mingling time. Everything will be off the record and there will be no recording or social media use. Lunch will be served both days and will be included in the fee. There have been requests for an evening social mixer, which sounds fun. But that might have to be an add-on.
What does the application process entail?
We just need to know what drew you to The Unspeakeasy and what topics you’re most interested in. As with all the retreats, the application is mostly a way of making sure everyone’s on the same page and understands this is not a yoga retreat or ayahuasca ceremony. (Maybe someday!)
Can I bring my spouse/partner/polycule mate?
Sure, but everyone needs to submit an individual application. And the fee is per-person.
Sounds great! Wish I wasn’t so far away (London). Although I do have a second cousin in Deerfield I could crash with ...
