This podcast is boring and repetitive, with the same couple of dozen guests, including absolute fucking idiots and grifters like Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying, on rotation to talk about the same fucking topics. I loved My Misspent Youth, this is a travesty. There’s nothing intellectual about the IDW, it’s Incestuous Dick Wanking.
I've had hundreds of guests over more than 4 years (Bret Weinstein exactly one time) and My Misspent Youth was more than 20 years ago. So I appreciate your staying with me.
My mistake. I returned to the podcast a few months ago after an absence of almost 3 years. One of the reasons I left were the almost back to back appearances by Heather Heying in the first year. I read "Self Care" based on Leigh Stein's first appearance. It was a stupid book, another entry in the already overstuffed category of Books by NY Media Types for NY Media Types. The recent (re)appearances by Deresiewicz, Hepola, and now Stein, gave me déjà vu. They had nothing new to say.
PS: I've been a fan since "The Goy Next Door" (GQ, July 1996) which remains one of the funniest things I've ever read.
lol - I'm very studious when it comes to the English language. I was even the captain of the "English Team" for academic challenge in high school, but I always hated diagraming sentences.
I appreciate this introduction to Stephanie Lepp's work. Fascinating use of creativity, performance and media. <3

one of my fav interviews so far.
I like the collab of a synthesis voice on their death bed.
